Instagram Shadowban: @indigenouswomenrising

In September 2025, Instagram began heavily limiting the reach of @indigenouswomenrising, a Native-led organization providing abortion and midwifery funding for Indigenous people in the U.S. and Canada, and distributing free menstrual products.

The restriction means their posts are being hidden from non-followers and excluded from Explore, Search, and Reels. This silencing cuts communities off from reproductive health information and direct support, when local options are already underfunded and inaccessible.

⚠️ There have been no violations. Indigenous Women Rising shares accurate, policy-compliant information. Yet vague rules and opaque moderation are blocking access to essential reproductive healthcare at scale, hitting Indigenous communities hardest.

This is part of a broader pattern: Big Tech platforms increasingly silence abortion providers, funders, and advocates, where essential healthcare information is routinely flagged and removed under false pretenses.

Abortion is healthcare. Everyone deserves access, and no algorithm should stand in the way.
