40+ Accounts Targeted in New Censorship Wave

📅 Date: March–April 2026 (ongoing)
📍 Region: Global
📱 Platform: Instagram / Meta
🔗 Accounts: @bellesacensored, @thegood_list, @insomnia.berlin, and 40+ reported affected accounts globally

A new wave of censorship is affecting accounts across women’s and reproductive health, LGBTQ+ communities, sex workers, erotic creators, nightlife and cultural spaces, creative networks, and sexual wellness educators.

Over the last few weeks alone, Repro Uncensored has received more than 40 reports of censorship affecting accounts globally.

Many accounts were removed under vague claims of violating “community guidelines,” with no clear explanation and no meaningful redress mechanisms through appeal.

Larger and highly visible accounts have also been affected, including women’s sexual health platform @bellesacensored, which says its original account was removed after using anatomical terms like “clitoris” in an educational context. Other affected accounts include creative networks such as @thegood_list and cultural and community gathering spaces like @insomnia.berlin.

This wave does not appear to be isolated. It reflects a broader pattern of suppression affecting communities that already face stigma, discrimination, and uneven access to visibility online.

These removals have effects beyond individual accounts. They can reduce access to information, limit visibility, disrupt community networks, and interfere with the digital channels used for communication, outreach, and organizing.
