ARJC 2026 Nairobi: Amplifying Feminist Voices Against Digital Censorship

Informer, Résister, Transmettre: Voix féminines face à la censure des droits sexuels et reproductifs

From June 15–19, Repro Uncensored will join activists, researchers, journalists, and advocates in Nairobi, Kenya, for the ARJC 2026 conference. Together with Bibiche Mbete and Fleur Olive Oussougoue, Martha Dimitratou will participate in a session exploring how women and feminist movements are responding to the growing censorship of sexual and reproductive health and rights information online.

Across the world, communities seeking access to abortion information, sexual health education, harm reduction resources, and gender justice advocacy are increasingly facing content removals, account suspensions, and algorithmic suppression on major digital platforms. These restrictions have real-world consequences, limiting access to essential information and undermining the ability of communities to organize, mobilize, and make informed decisions about their health and rights.

This conversation will highlight the experiences of women on the frontlines of digital censorship, examine the impact of platform governance on access to information, and explore strategies for resistance, solidarity, and collective action. As attacks on reproductive rights and civic participation continue to evolve, sharing knowledge across regions and movements remains more important than ever.

We look forward to contributing to these discussions and connecting with advocates from across Africa and beyond.
