The People’s UPR (Universal Periodic Review) is a people-led event taking place in New York City, organized in response to the United States’ declining engagement with United Nations human rights mechanisms.
This year’s People’s UPR will be co-hosted by the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law’s International Human Rights Clinic and Saint Louis University School of Law’s Human Rights at Home Litigation Clinic, with support from a joint planning committee of national collaborators.
Over 30 directly impacted individuals will share personal testimonies of human rights violations, bringing lived experiences to the forefront of international accountability and justice.
