Facebook Takedown: @WomenHelpWomen Poland
📅 Date: January 2026
📍 Region: Global
📱 Platform: Facebook
🔗 Account: @WomenHelpWomen
In January 2026, Facebook once again suspended Women Help Women, this time their Polish account, without prior notice, without a clear explanation, and without a meaningful appeals process. This is the third suspension in one year targeting Women Help Women by Meta platforms.
Women Help Women is an international feminist organization working to expand access to abortion worldwide. Their team of trained counselors, medical professionals, activists, and researchers provides information, support, and access to abortion pills, particularly in contexts where care is restricted by law, stigma, or lack of services. Their work includes a global telehealth service and partnerships with local feminist groups to ensure people can access safe, accurate reproductive healthcare.
In 2025 alone, Women Help Women responded to nearly 150,000 emails from Poland, supporting over 30,000 people seeking abortion care. Silencing these accounts directly cuts off access to life saving information and support for tens of thousands of people.
This page had previously grown to over 33,000 followers and reached an estimated 80,000 to 120,000 people each month through community sharing and peer networks.
The account was regularly targeted by hostile comments and repeated reports. We have strong reason to believe this pattern of coordinated mass reporting contributed to the automated enforcement and removal.
This is not an isolated incident. These decisions are opaque, automated, and nearly impossible to challenge. What is framed as enforcement is, in practice, systemic censorship of abortion and reproductive health information.
For many, this account functioned as a critical first point of care. When such pages disappear, entire networks lose access to trusted, accurate support.
This case reflects a growing global pattern in which Big Tech platforms suppress abortion, reproductive health, and gender justice content, undermining access to care, safety, and bodily autonomy.
