Find us at Mozilla Festival 2026 (MozFest) in Barcelona, Spain! We'll be joining researchers, technologists, civil society organizations, activists, and communities from around the world to explore digital censorship, platform accountability, freedom of expression, and the future of digital rights.
This year's festival, themed Wilding, explores alternatives to increasingly centralized and controlled digital systems, bringing together communities developing new approaches to technology, collective action, and digital freedom.
At MozFest 2026, we'll also be advancing our documentary project with filmmaker Ottilie Maters, exploring digital censorship, resistance, and movement-building. Through interviews and conversations with participants, we'll document how communities are responding to platform restrictions, challenging the concentration of technological power, and developing new strategies to protect their rights and visibility online.
Drawing on our research documenting thousands of censorship cases across more than 50 countries, we'll bring insights into how automated content moderation, algorithmic decision-making, and opaque platform enforcement restrict access to information and disproportionately affect marginalized communities, including LGBTQI+ advocates, women's and reproductive health organizations, journalists, and civil society.
We're looking forward to connecting with others working to protect freedom of expression, strengthen democratic participation, and build a more inclusive and accountable digital future.
Mozilla Festival 2026 takes place at Recinte Fabra i Coats in Barcelona, from 28 to 30 October, as part of Barcelona Open Tech Week.
