MozFest Barcelona 2025: Invisible by Design: Rights-Based Perspectives on Algorithmic Content Suppression

Join Repro Uncensored and RNW Media for a conversation on the shifting landscape of online speech and censorship.

The recent overhaul of Meta’s content moderation policies raises an urgent question for rights and health advocates: Is this a rollback of moderation, or a targeted silencing of certain speech that challenges dominant norms?

Sexuality education content has long faced algorithmic censorship, shadow-bans, and ad-blocks, and it’s not alone. Activists working on racial justice, climate change, mental health, feminism, and queer rights all encounter disproportionate moderation, revealing a pattern of systemic suppression.

This inter- and trans-disciplinary panel brings together sexuality education advocates, digital rights experts, and trust and safety professionals to explore how AI-driven moderation shapes what knowledge and voices survive online. We’ll also examine how frameworks like the EU AI Act and Digital Services Act impact free expression—and ask: who gets to speak and be heard in the digital public square?

Mozfest will take place in Barcelona, Spain from November 7-9, 2025
